Toy Tracker

Children are known to build emotional connections with their toys and sometimes as a parent it can be stressful when they have lost their favorite toy. With this problem in mind, End of the Dirt Road reached out to create a solution. The solution was the Deedu, a bluetooth tracker that is able to attach itself to any toy from a teddy bear to an RC car. Starting from scratch, the design team worked to grant the tracker the ability to adhere itself to many different toys, blend in seamlessly, and develop a strong identity for the toy tracker line. To make sure the tracker does not draw too much of a child’s attention, we worked to keep the tracker as minimal as possible and picked colors that would help it not stick out but still circled back to the client’s branding. To attach itself to many different kinds of toys, we designed a snap on frame accessory so you can sew, tie, pin, or stick onto the toy. During the development process, StudioRed emphasized simple part design, low cost tooling and assembly that will optimize production volume and schedule. The result was the smallest tracking product being offered on the market.
